TOPT-3L Jacketed Glass Reactor (Double Glass Reactor)
The TOPT-3L is a 3 liter jacketed glass reactor constructed from borosilicate glass 3.3, a material chosen for its chemical resistance and thermal stability. Its double-wall (jacketed) design allows the inner reaction chamber to hold the working solvent while the surrounding jacket circulates a cold or heat source, making it suitable for both high-temperature and low-temperature stirred reactions. The reactor is engineered as a versatile platform for synthesis, distillation, and reflux work under atmospheric pressure, negative pressure, or vacuum.
Construction and Configuration
The reactor pairs a large bottle-neck design with a 150 mm reactor cover flange and a 200 mm outside diameter, providing convenient access for charging, sampling, and cleaning. The inner layer can be filled with the reaction solvent for stirred reactions, while the jacket can be connected to various heat-transfer media such as freezing liquid, hot water, or hot oil when paired with a suitable circulating oil bath or low-temperature circulating chiller system. Liquid material inflow is handled through a 24# 0.25L feed connection, and condensation is managed via a 24# condenser interface.

Features and Operation
Stirring is provided by an anchor-type paddle with a ¢7 mm shaft, available with a single-layer or double-layer PTFE sheet for corrosion resistance, and is adjustable across a wide speed range of 50 to 1200 rpm. The unit features an LCD display for convenient temperature monitoring. Both evaporation and reverse flow of material can be controlled, allowing the reactor to also serve as a distillation synthesis device. Under a constant-temperature condition, stirred reactions can be carried out in the closed reactor at atmospheric or negative pressure, with the reaction solution refluxed and distilled, or the system can be evacuated to perform vacuum reactions.
Please note: glass reactors with a volume of 1 L and 3 L are supplied only with a temperature tube, without a PT100 temperature sensor. Buyers planning continuous temperature logging should account for this when selecting accessories.
Applications and Related Models
With its combination of borosilicate construction, jacketed temperature control, and flexible pressure operation, the TOPT-3L is an ideal pilot-test and small-production unit for modern fine chemistry, biopharmaceuticals, and the synthesis of new materials. For smaller-scale work where a compact setup such as a 100mL flask arrangement is more appropriate, the 1 L model in the same series offers a similar workflow at reduced capacity. When larger throughput is required while retaining the same double-wall jacket heating and cooling concept, the TOPT-5L provides a scaled-up alternative for the same range of synthesis and distillation tasks.
